A serial scammer has walked away from the wreckage of another luxury car hire business, leaving a string of angry creditors, while again snubbing his nose at corporate regulators, police and Consumer Affairs Victoria.
Bankrupt Andrew Triantafyllos, 42, has been linked to more than a dozen businesses in melbourne and Sydney since 2004, which lease out exotic sports cars, but then refuse to return deposits of up to $35,000.
Federal and state authorities have been unable or unwilling to stop Mr Triantafyllos from repeatedly placing his debt-laden companies into liquidation, transferring assets and opening new businesses that repeat the scam.
Mr Triantafyllos, who was declared bankrupt in 2018 owing $5.8 million to the Australian Tax Office, conceals his involvement in the companies by using “dummy directors” that have included a former exotic dancer from Kittens strip club.
