Aussie beauty business goes bust owing half a MILLION dollars to customers who prepaid sessions

Two melbourne beauty clinics that collapsed when the owners were unable to repay $5million in debt have faced outrage from customers who paid in advance.

Holding companies for the Australian Laser & Skin clinics at Mornington and Moonee Ponds went into voluntary administration in April, and the clinics have now shut their doors permanently after a rescue package could not be worked out.

Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) documents confirm the holding companies – Alsc Admin, Alsc Australasia, Alsc Mornington and Australian Cosmetic & Laser Clinic – entered liquidation in May.

The business closures have left more than 1,000 customers who paid cash up front out of pocket to the tune of $500,000, The Herald Sun reported.

The clinic’s website shows it offered dermatology treatments in ‘packs’ of sessions, such as three or six appointments paid in advance.
